I am a writer of words, all sorts of words. Some are science flavoured but most are fun and silly. I am also an illustrator of cute things, all sorts of cute things, like marshmallows and scooters. I used to be a cell biologist and have a PhD (pronounced 'fudd') in genetics. For most of my career, I’ve been a science journalist. Check out my sciencey words HERE and on Twitter. These days I create children’s books. I grew up on the edge of Exmoor in England and now live close to New York City in leafy Connecticut with one hairy-faced husband, two sticky-faced children, and a remarkably baggy cat.
